IVU expands into India
Berlin/Delhi, 23 October 2024 | Reliable, safe, digital: the new regional high-speed railway from Delhi to Meerut will, in future, use the integrated IVU.rail software from IVU Traffic Technologies AG for planning and scheduling its staff. This is the first time that the Berlin-based company has had an active presence in the world's most populous country.
The new “Regional Rapid Transit System” (RRTS) takes regional transport in the greater Delhi area to a new level with a fleet consisting of 40 modern trains that reach speeds of up to 160 km/h. In future, a train will run every 15 minutes on two lines, significantly reducing the journey time for commuters. What shouldn't be forgotten, is that all this takes place on Indian scale: the metropolis of Delhi is home to over 20 million inhabitants, while the 'suburb' of Meerut, around 70 km away, houses more than 1.5 million. DB RRTS Operations India Pvt. Ltd., the Indian operating company of DB International Operations, has been commissioned with the operation. In the future, the company will rely on the IVU.rail software solution from IVU Traffic Technologies for the planning and dispatching of the more than 600 people it employs. IVU.cloud ensures that initial operation of the software can take place rapidly and that all operations are carried out smoothly.
“By using the RRTS network, we are setting new standards in regional rail transport in India. This also includes a modern and reliable IT system, which is why we have opted for the market leader, IVU.rail,” explains Praveen Goyal, CEO of DB RRTS Operations India. “This will enable us to offer high-quality and safe transport at optimal costs right from the very start with the launch of the entire network. As part of DB RRTS’s digitalisation strategy, the software will be responsible for the rostering, holiday planning and shift deployment of over 600 personnel working shifts in Delhi from the start of 2025.”
“We are delighted to be involved in the development of the new regional high-speed railway in the greater Delhi area. Our cooperation in India represents a further milestone for us in the internationalisation of our company,” says Martin Müller-Elschner, CEO of IVU Traffic Technologies. “It once again demonstrates that by using our integrated software, we can provide exactly the right solutions to meet the challenges faced by a wide range of railway companies worldwide.”
