Rhein-Erft-Verkehrsgesellschaft relies on the IVU.suite

Berlin, 13th May 2024 – In just four months, Rhein-Erft-Verkehrsgesellschaft (REVG) has completed a successful system changeover, opting for IVU Traffic Technologies’ standard solutions for fleet management and ticketing.

With around 270 scheduled bus services, REVG transports over 14 million passengers each year in Rhine-Erft, Germany’s ninth most populous district. Thanks to the new IVU.fleet control centre and IVU.ticket.box on-board computers, REVG is equipped to react quickly and appropriately to any operating situation. IVU’s seamlessly integrated ticketing system also simplifies onboard ticket sales, with data hosted in the IVU.cloud to ensure operations run smoothly and securely. The entire migration to the new system took just four months, with the help of the IVU.xpress project approach.

REVG’s Managing Director, Walter Reinarz, explained how they approached the system migration with an open mind: “Our biggest challenge was to cultivate a new sales system and equip our entire bus fleet with the latest on-board computer technology, all without interrupting operations and with as few restrictions as possible for our passengers. Thanks to our cooperation with IVU, the changeover was completed on schedule and in a remarkably short amount of time."
